Match Report: Mountfield HK 5-2 Cardiff Devils

A dominating Mountfield display saw of the challenge of the Cardiff Devils despite a late effort.

Mountfield started very strongly and exposed the Devils defence early on.

The opening goal came from Tomas Vincour after he fired in a shot on the power play after being assisted by Ales Jergl and Oskars Cibulskis.

Mountfield would double their lead through Lukas Cingel. The Devils were caught out by a deflection which landed at the right place at the right time for Cingel. Mislav Rosandic was awarded the assist.

First Period: Mountfield HK 2-0 Cardiff Devils

Whilst the Devils started the second period better, it was still Mountfield who dominated the game outshooting the Devils 9-6.

Mountfield also looked very good defensively as they managed to block 14 shots in just the first and second period.

Second Period: Mountfield HK 2-0 Cardiff Devils

Mountfield added another goal, this time short-handed. Daniel Rakos latched onto a poor pass and was free on the attack to slot the puck past Ben Bowns.

Mountfield carried out their attack on the Devils as Rudolf Cerveny added another goal to the scoreboard. Assisted by Radek Smolenak.

The Cardiff Devils gave Mountfield something to think about when Bryce Reddick broke away and fired in the first goal for the Devils. Assisted by Masi Marjamaki and Gleason Fournier.

Just 22 seconds later Matias Sointu grabbed his first goal after just his second game with the Devils. The one assist going to Mike McNamee.
