Match Report: Nottingham Panthers 3-5 Cardiff Devils

The Devils found themselves drawing level with the Nottingham Panthers overall with a win a piece after an impressive comeback to win 5-3.

Similarly to yesterday, the Nottingham Panthers started strong and grabbed the opening goal. Mark Matheson opened the scoring after he was assisted by Samuel Herr and Jonathon Rheault.

Just nine seconds later however and Blair Riley would fire the Devils level. Assisted by Masi Marjamaki and Joey Martin.

Joey Martin became the Cardiff Devils top ever point scorer in the EIHL era after that assist.

First Period: Nottingham Panthers 1-1 Cardiff Devils

The Nottingham Panthers retook the lead as Jacob Hansen broke down the right wing and played it across for Georgs Golovkovs to score the goal.

The Panthers further extended their lead on the powerplay through William Quist. Assisted by Georgs Golovkovs and Jonathan Rheault.

The Devils came back fired up with Matthew Myers grabbing a powerplay goal of his own. Sean McMonagle with the loan assist.

The Devils tied the game up. Masi Marjamaki with the goal after he was set up by Joey Martin and Sam Jardine.

Second Period: Nottingham Panthers 3-3 Cardiff Devils

The Cardiff Devils took the lead for the first time through Matt Pope and an absolute scorcher of shot. Assisted by Mark Louis and Stephen Dixon.

Joey Haddad extended the Devils lead after being assisted by both Gleason Fournier and Mike McNamee.
